Tuna Paté

We’re always looking at ways to get more fish in our diet. Tinned tuna is a good option for children. This pate mixes tuna with another childhood favourite cream cheese. You can adjust the lemon, pepper and dill, as your family like it, when you mix it together.

Ingredients

  • 1 small can of Tuna

  • 90g Cream Cheese

  • 1 Lemon

  • 3-4 stems of fresh Dill or ½ tsp Dried Dill

  • ½ tsp Pepper

What do we need?

  • Small mixing bowl

  • Fork

  • Grater or zester

  • Teaspoon

  • Scissors

  • Cup

Tia's tip

This recipe also works well with Mackerel.

What do we do?

  • Empty the tuna into the small bowl.

  • Use the fork to break up the tuna into very small pieces.

  • Add the cream cheese and stir it into the tuna to form a paste.

  • Take the zest off the lemon using the small section of a grater or a zester. You want to rub each section three times. Be careful you only want the zest not the white bits.

  • Cut the dill in a cup using scissors until it is finely chopped.

  • Add the zest and some of the lemon juice, be careful of the pips.

  • Add the pepper and dill, stir everything together.

  • Taste the pate and decide if you need more juice or pepper.

Eat and enjoy!
